Four members of the Vetevendosje opposition party were found guilty of terrorism charges after an explosive device was thrown at the Kosovo Assembly building in August 2016.
The panel of judges representing the Basic Court of Pristina found the four Vetevendosje activists guilty of throwing explosive device at the Assembly building in August 2016.
The Court sentenced Vetevendosje member of Parliament Frasher Krasniqi to eight years in prison, Atdhe Arifi to six, Egzon Haliti to five, and Adea Batusha to two years.
According to the indictment the four Vetevendosje activists allegedly acted as an organized group and attacked the Kosovo Assembly building with an explosive device on 4 August 2016, two days after a long debate on the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro, which the Vetevendosje opposed claiming Kosovo loses territory in the agreement.
Nonetheless, Vetevendosje activists denied charges stating that they have nothing to do with the attack.
